Methodology
This leaderboard is curated, not signal-derived. Each row is researched from public sources and every market-share number carries a provenance label so you can weigh how much to trust it. (For the machine-computed, signal-aggregate side of the site, see Indices.)
Share figures are estimates
Precise datacom optical-module market share is not publicly disclosed at the vendor level — the authoritative figures live in paid analyst reports (LightCounting, Cignal AI). The percentages here are directional estimates synthesized from public proxies: named analyst rankings, reported NVIDIA-supply-chain wallet shares, company IR commentary, and OFC/ECOC product disclosures. They are not audited and do not sum to 100% (a long tail of smaller vendors, plus merchant-component overlap where one company supplies lasers into another's modules). Where share attribution is not meaningful — a contract manufacturer (EMS), a systems vendor with in-house optics, or a business that has been absorbed into another — the share is left blank rather than invented.
Provenance labels
- Official
- Stated directly by the company (press release, IR deck, official spec).
- Filing-derived
- Computed from a regulatory filing (e.g. an annual report's segment revenue).
- Third-party
- A figure published by a named outside analyst (e.g. LightCounting, Cignal AI) or reported by a named outlet.
- Site estimate
- aiinframap's own directional synthesis from multiple public proxies — the softest tier; treat as approximate.
1.6T transition status
The 1.6T (1600G) generation pairs with next-gen AI accelerators. Industry-wide 1.6T volume was still in the hundreds-of-thousands of units in 2025 and ramps through 2026–27, so most suppliers sit between sampling and early shipment.
